User Roles in Easy Board
User roles ensure that only the right people can see and interact with the right materials.
Here’s a summary of how it all works:
Standard Users (default)
By default, all users in Easy Board have read-only permissions. This means they can view and interact with only the records and materials shared with them. A standard user can access all records (meetings, announcements, library sections) and all attached materials for the group(s) that user belongs to. All users must belong to at least one group.
Unless the “Hide People Page” setting is active, standard users are able to view other users’ board profiles. Standard users may also add personal annotations to their documents and respond to their meetings’ RSVPs, polls, and meeting questions.
Standard users cannot create, modify or delete records, view draft meetings, upload documents, invite new users, or modify any platform settings.
Group Admins
Group admins are standard users who have been promoted by a Super Admin to manage one or more groups. Group admins can create meetings, send out announcements, and upload documents for the group(s) for which they are an Admin.
Super admins can designate a user as a group admin by navigating to Settings > Groups > Edit (next to the group name) > Group admin toggle ‘on’ (next to the user’s name) > Save
Group admins do not have access to the Settings page and are thus unable to edit their group or add/remove its members. Only Super Admins can add/remove people from groups.
Super Admins
Super admins have full access to all records, materials, and settings on the platform. They are the only users who have the ability to invite, edit, and download user data on the People page.
To upgrade a user to a Super Admin, navigate to their board profile in the People page > Edit > scroll down > switch the Super Admin toggle ‘on’ > Save
We recommend having at least two Super Admins on your account at all times to help make sure someone is always available to assist with Super Admin changes or tasks in the future.
